Our templates are strategically designed to include most pages & sections you’ll need, so start by using your template as a blueprint. Make a list of the pages, and then note the sections or general info you know you'll want on each page.

First up is deciding what pages will make up your site & what they’ll be named in your navigation.

If you have brand-specific photos, compile them in a single folder. Need more images? Download the guide linked below with our favorite free stock photo resources.

High-resolution images can slow down your site & hurt your search ranking, so always resize your images before adding them to Showit (try this free bulk image resize tool). Consider renaming your images with keywords to boost your site's SEO.

We suggest writing your website copy in a separate document — not inside your website template. It can be overwhelming to design the site and write the copy at the same time. Use the outline you created in Step 1 as a guide, and fill in your content for each section. Refer to the template to determine how much copy you need.

Don’t feel like you have to write your entire website before you start designing. It may be helpful to draft copy for one page at a time, moving back & forth between writing and designing.
