Note: This article only applies to Hey Hello Studio clients 💖
And yes, this really is from us 😅
We know the timing is less than ideal since someone is currently impersonating Hey Hello Studio via email. This Showit update is completely unrelated to those scam emails. There is no emergency, nothing is currently wrong with your website, and you do not need to pay us to make this update. You can also verify the update directly on Showit’s website here.
Read on for all the details!
Showit is upgrading the behind-the-scenes tech (aka the “Publish Engine”) that powers all Showit websites. It’s an exciting update with a lot of REALLY good stuff that will benefit your site (speed, accessibility, SEO, and more 🎉).
The not-so-good news: because they’re changing how things work behind the scenes, existing websites can need some adjustments to look + function exactly as they did before.
The reason we’re giving you a heads up now is because Showit is letting us preview existing sites on the new engine before they officially switch over (an amazing feature that we usually don’t get when platforms update!).
That means we have a window to see what’s going to change, catch anything that looks or works a little wonky, and fix it before your clients or customers ever see it.
Keep in mind that nothing is wrong with your website today, and there’s no emergency. We just have a really nice opportunity to test everything now instead of troubleshooting it later 🙃
Showit has shared more about the update + how to preview your site here:

Technically, you can do absolutely nothing and your website will automatically switch over to the new Publish Engine when it officially rolls out.
If you notice any issues after the switch, you can reach out to Showit Support for help, or submit them to us and we can jump in at our hourly rate. Just keep in mind that we’re expecting a LOT of requests once the update officially rolls out, so we won’t be able to guarantee our usual turnaround times.
If your website is a big part of your business, we’d recommend getting ahead of it.
You can use the preview Showit has provided to review + prep your site yourself, or keep reading for a few ways we can take care of it for you.
Yes, absolutely. We know most of our clients have approximately zero interest in interrupting their day to figure out the inner workings of a Showit update 🙃
Tech changes like this just come with the territory of having a website, but you definitely don’t have to figure it all out yourself. We’ve got a few options depending on how hands-on (or hands-off!) you want to be:
This is exactly the kind of thing your plan is designed for 💖
If you’re on the Stay Current or Growth Partnership plan, we’ll be reviewing your website on the new Publish Engine and taking care of any necessary adjustments as part of your ongoing plan. You don’t need to book or pay for anything separately.
We’re beginning these reviews for our Support Plan clients the week of August 24.
You can stop reading now and go do something more fun 😎
If you’ve been considering ongoing website support, this is a great time to jump in.
For any clients who join the Stay Current or Growth Partnership plan by August 31, we’ll include all the prep for this update at no extra cost… along with ongoing website updates, maintenance, support, and all the other perks that come with having us in your corner.

Note: The Peace of Mind plan does not include this Publish Engine update.
If you want us to make sure your site is all set for the transition, but don’t want to join a plan, we’re offering one-time Publish Engine updates starting at $750. Because every site is a little different, we’ll take a quick look at yours first and confirm a flat-rate price before getting started.
Here’s what we can take care of for you:
Your final price will be based on the size and complexity of your website and what we find during our initial review. If we uncover anything unexpected once we get started that falls outside the quoted scope, we’ll always check with you before doing any additional billable work.
Because we’ve built a LOT of Showit websites over the years, we’ll be scheduling these one-time reviews on a first-come, first-served basis.

No, you definitely don’t!
If you feel comfortable working inside Showit, you can find more info about the update on Showit’s website, and preview your own site using the new engine. Then if you do find errors and need help fixing them, you can reach out to Showit support, or reach out to us for help.
You can also let your website automatically transition to the new Publish Engine, and then reach out if the update causes problems. We’re only letting you know now to help you avoid those issues from happening at all.
Just keep in mind our turnaround time may be delayed after the official rollout 💖
Please don’t hesitate to email us to chat about what’s best for your specific site, we’re here to support you!
Someone has been impersonating Hey Hello Studio and emailing some of our clients claiming there were urgent website and SEO issues they needed to pay us to fix.
So we completely understand if hearing “website update + SEO + optional paid help” immediately brought those emails to mind.
This is completely unrelated.
There is no emergency, nothing is currently wrong with your website, and you do not need to hire us to make this update.
This is a real, platform-wide change coming directly from Showit. You can read about the update and how to preview your own website directly from Showit.
We’re simply making sure our past clients know it’s coming, and giving you the option to have us handle the transition if you don’t want to tackle it yourself!
