Instead of a full-blown website, try one of these options instead:
A social media account has a way lower barrier than a website and allows you to get up and running quickly.
You don’t have to master all the social channels at once—just focus on one or two platforms to start.
Start by asking yourself:
Where’s your target audience engaging?
What are they interested in?
Dedicate some time to learning about and developing content for those platforms, and then reassess after three to six months.
Another great option for beginners is a landing page. You can use a service like LeadPages to create a simple one-page design that gives you legitimacy, but saves you time since you don’t have to create content for a whole website.
If you decide to take the landing page route, the most important thing is to make it crystal clear to visitors what you do and how it can benefit them.
At the top of your landing page, quickly summarize who you are and what you do, focusing on what you can do for your clients and how you’re different from everyone else.
Bonus: You can repackage that copy and use it on all your social profiles, in your emails, and any other place you can think of.
Eventually you probably WILL need a website to scale and grow your business, but don’t let it hold you back from getting started.
