Note: This article is only relevant to Hey Hello Studio clients.

Part 1: Set Up Google Analytics

1. Go to analytics.google.com and sign in with the Google account you want Analytics and Search Console associated with. This is often the account you use for your business. If you don’t have one yet, you can create one with any email address (it doesn’t need to be a Gmail address).

2. Click “Start measuring.”

3. Create your account.

• Account name: your business name is fine (e.g., “Sunny Meadow Wellness”)
• Leave the data-sharing checkboxes as-is unless you have a preference — the defaults are fine
• Click Next

4. Create your property.

• Property name: your business or website name again
• Set your reporting time zone and currency
• Click Next

5. Add a few business details. Google will ask about your industry category and business size — pick whatever’s closest, it doesn’t need to be exact. Click Create, and accept the Terms of Service when prompted.

6. Set up your data stream.

• Choose Web
• Enter your website URL
• Give the stream a name (your site name works)
• Click Create stream

7. Find your Measurement ID. Once your stream is created, you’ll see a Measurement ID on the right side of the screen. It starts with “G-“ followed by a mix of letters and numbers, like G-XXXXXXXXXX.

Part 2: Set Up Google Search Console

1. Go to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with the same Google account.

2. Click “Start now,” then “Add property.”

3. Choose the “URL prefix” option (not “Domain” — URL prefix is the simpler of the two). Enter your website address exactly as it appears in your browser, including https://, then click Continue.

4. Choose the “HTML tag” verification method. Google will show you a list of ways to verify you own the site. Select HTML tag, and you’ll see a small snippet of code that looks something like this:

Don’t worry about pasting this anywhere yourself — just copy the whole snippet.

(Leave the Search Console verification screen open, or just copy the code somewhere safe — you can click Verify after we’ve added it to your site.)

Send Us Your Info

Once you have both pieces:

1. Your Measurement ID (starts with “G-“)
2. Your HTML verification tag (the snippet starting with <meta name="google-site-verification"...)

Just reply to your onboarding email with both, and we’ll take it from there. We’ll connect everything to your site and let you know once it’s live. No need to touch any code or site settings yourself.
