We have a confession.
These Starbucks cups you see in a lot of our photos aren’t cute props. We both carry water bottles with us *everywhere* and drink what feels like 7 gallons of water a day. However, it took us SIX MONTHS to plug in the water cooler in our studio.
Yep. We bought it, and then we left it sitting there, staring at us, with two huge jugs of water next to it.
For six months.
We’d both run out of water by 1pm and just suffer through the rest of the day. ?
You may be thinking: Why, crazy ladies, would you do this?
Because it required a few steps of setup, and that’s just the kind of administrative tasks we are TERRIBLE at completing.
We’re creatives… we can design and write alllll day, but when a tax form needs completed or a check needs cashed… IMPOSSIBLE TASK.
Six-month waiting list.
Cannot compute.
No habla inglés.
One of the ⭐️ BEST ⭐️ things we’ve done for our business is to hire people who are great at the things we’re not.
For us, that meant an Operations Manager and a Virtual Assistant.
But it wasn’t easy.
It’s REALLY tough to take the step to delegate things you *could* do yourself.
There’s a mental barrier around understanding the actual cost of your time, and recognizing all the other things you could be doing to move your business forward.
And let’s be honest, it’s also hard to shell out the cash when you’re just getting started. ?
But we’ve learned that it’s such a critical step to growing your business.
Even if you don’t have goals to scale in a big way, you probably dream of a day where you only do the stuff that fills you with joy, and get to assign out things that are in someone else’s zone of genius.
